Newspaper delivery company changes in eastern Uusimaa, Posti starts change negotiations in the area’s early-morning delivery

12.09.2023

Posti has been handling the early-morning delivery of several publishers’ publications in the early-morning delivery areas of Porvoo, Loviisa, Sipoo and Söderkulla. From April 1, 2024, another delivery company will be in charge of newspaper delivery in the area, following the termination of Posti’s contracts with the two largest newspaper publishers.

The publishers will communicate the change to their customers according to their own schedules.

The change will have no effect on the delivery of day mail or other Posti services in the area.

Due to the change, Posti will start change negotiations, which will concern all of Posti Palvelut Oy’s employees in the early-morning delivery of Porvoo, Loviisa, Sipoo and Söderkulla. According to the preliminary estimate, the planned changes may lead to a maximum of 62 employees being permanently laid off, and some of the personnel may face other changes in their duties. Posti’s Change Unit is mapping out other job opportunities within Posti. The changes affecting the personnel will be specified as the negotiations progress. According to the current estimate, they would be implemented between November 2023 and April 2024.
