Posti delivered nearly 7 million parcels during peak Christmas weeks – Finns have also sent Christmas cards actively

12/22/2023

Finns have again remembered loved ones with many Christmas parcels and cards.

Posti delivered nearly 7 million parcels during peak Christmas weeks, starting with Black Week.

”A lot of parcels have once again been delivered to parcel lockers, service points, and homes. We will keep working to make sure parcels always get delivered to their preferred pickup place,” says Kaj Kulp, responsible for Posti’s e-commerce services.

Many Christmas cards have also been sent, approximately 12 million in total.

”Many have again decided to spread joy this Christmas with a traditional Christmas card. It’s great that the tradition is still going strong,” says Sami Määttä, who is responsible for Posti's consumer letter services.

Christmas greetings that need an address clarification at Posti due to a wrong or incomplete address, and Christmas greetings that have been submitted to Posti after the last mailing dates of Christmas are estimated to be delivered by the New Year.

“Delivering Christmas mailings is a matter of honor to us, and all 20,000 Posti employees in Finland and our other operating countries have been a part of this. A warm thank you to all our customers and Posti Christmas makers for a successful season. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” says Jarmo Ainasoja, Head of Christmas at Posti.

This Christmas season, we delivered with more fossil-free vehicles used by us and our partners than ever before. We drove with approximately 340 electric vans, eleven electric delivery trucks, one electric heavy truck, 45 biogas heavy trucks, 12 biogas delivery trucks and over 2000 light electric vehicles, from scooters to electric carts.
