The season for sending Christmas greetings will be in full swing once Posti delivers the red mailing envelopes for Christmas cards today on Monday, November 29. The envelopes are delivered in the Postinen advertisement bundle. Postinen is called Joulunen during the Christmas season.
The red mailing envelope can be used to send Christmas cards with the cheaper no-value indicator stamp for Christmas greetings. The greetings will be delivered in time for Christmas as long as they are dropped off at a Posti outlet or mailbox by Tuesday, December 14. The red mailing envelopes can be dropped off in a mailbox until midnight.
Cards will get to Christmas card sorting faster in a red mailing envelope. The delivery of the Christmas cards sent in a red mailing envelope starts on Tuesday, December 7.
Postinen/Joulunen and the red mailing envelopes are not delivered to households that have imposed an advertising ban. However, the mailing envelopes can also be picked up from all Posti outlets and most retailers that stock stamps.
Important mailing dates
Christmas greetings with the Eurasian Bullfinch no-value indicator stamp for Christmas greetings (EUR 1.30) will be delivered in time for Christmas as long as they are mailed by Tuesday, December 14. Cards can be dropped off in a mailbox until midnight on that day. You can recognize a no-value indicator stamp for Christmas greetings by the snowflake symbol.
Christmas cards with the Christmas Spruce domestic no-value indicator stamp (EUR 1.85) will be delivered by Christmas if they are mailed by Sunday, December 19. You can recognize a domestic no-value indicator stamp by the map of Finland symbol.
If you are running late with your Christmas cards, you can add a Plus Sticker next to the domestic no-value indicator stamp, in which case you can mail your cards up to Tuesday, December 21, in accordance with the emptying schedules of mailboxes and Posti’s drop-off points.

Christmas cards sent abroad should have the Northern Lights international no-value indicator stamp (EUR 1.95). You can recognize an international no-value indicator stamp by the globe symbol.

Remember the correct address
When writing a thick stack of Christmas cards, it’s always a good idea to check that each card has the correct address on it. Each Christmas card should include the following information: the recipient’s first and last name, street address and building number, stairway and apartment number, postal code as well as the name of the city/municipality.
