Posti and Ilkka-Yhtymä Group have concluded an extension agreement for delivery services in the South Ostrobothnia area and part of the Ostrobothnia region until 2026. Posti will continue to produce the seven-day delivery services needed by the newspaper published by Ilkka-Yhtymä Group, as well as the delivery services needed by less frequently published local newspapers in urban areas and sparsely populated areas.

“The home-delivered morning paper is an important and much-valued part alongside digital services. Since 2008, we have been developing and creating new solutions to the area's service needs together with Ilkka-Yhtymä Group. At Posti, we want to use our excellent know-how to extend the lifecycle of the paper magazine. Combining our delivery networks enables the foundation for a sustainable delivery cost trend and meets our customer's regional needs. Our shared concerns, more important than ever, also include sustainability issues, such as climate goals,” says Kimmo Kauranen, Vice President, Media and Partners, Posti.

Posti's early-morning delivery business has grown in recent years. Posti delivers newspapers seven days a week (depending on the days newspapers are published). Currently, Posti carries out early-morning delivery in the capital region as well as in East Uusimaa, Pirkanmaa, Satakunta, Southeast Finland, South Savo, Central Finland, South Ostrobothnia and North Karelia. Posti's early-morning delivery employs approximately 2,400 deliverers.
