The collective agreement negotiations between Palta and PAU were concluded last week, and industrial peace has returned to Posti. All of Posti's services are available.

"Work has continued as normal for several days already and we have been able to quickly start clearing the backlog and begin processing Christmas mail. We are ready for the e-commerce season as well as the Christmas season. All of our services are now back in use, and new mail can be sent. Christmas mail will be delivered on schedule," says Jarmo Ainasoja, Head of Exception Management at Posti.

According to the current estimate, most of the items delayed by the strike can be delivered by Christmas at the latest. A small number of items may be delayed until early January. The estimate will become clearer once the mail delivery work progresses further.

Current estimate of the restoration of services after PAU's strike and the sympathy strikes

Parcels are delivered according to the timetable in accordance with out service level agreement. A minority of the parcels stored due to the strike may still be delayed by a few days in some places. Parcels have a tracking code, and you can track the progress of your parcel yourself using the OmaPosti application on your phone or at www.posti.fi.

The deliveries of letters, magazines and advertisements stored at Posti's facilities during the strike may still be delayed by several weeks. These items will already be delivered to the recipients together with items mailed after the strike.

Items stored during the strike will be processed by transport, sorting and delivery in an order that speeds up the delivery of all delayed items as much as possible.
The strike did not affect the early-morning delivery of newspapers, the majority of Posti's service points (Posti outlets, Posti parcel lockers and stamp sales) or warehousing services. The impact on Freight Services was minor.

Put Christmas cards in Posti's red mailing envelope and send parcels

Christmas cards and parcels are delivered according to the normal timetable. Posti's traditional red mailing envelope for sending Christmas cards has been distributed to many homes. You can also get a red mailing envelope free of charge from a Posti service point. Some shops also offer them next to Christmas cards. It is also a good idea to get ready to send international parcels and Christmas greetings. Christmas stamps are also already available for purchase.

You can find the last mailing dates for Christmas mail, information and instructions deliveries at posti.fi/joulu

"Christmas is an important and traditional time to show your friends and family that you are thinking of them. It is also the most important time of the year for us here at Posti. We are glad that around 3,000 seasonal employees are once again working with us in the run-up to Christmas. Altogether, there are roughly 20,000 of us serving our customers during the Christmas season," says Jarmo Ainasoja.
