– Posti will manage the Hobby Hall logistics chain

Stockmann and Posti have entered into an agreement on transferring the logistics operations of Hobby Hall to Posti starting May 1, 2016. The agreement covers the warehousing of Hobby Hall's products, online store logistics services-including dispatches and the center for product returns-and the transportation of products to the Hobby Hall store in Tammisto. The entire warehouse personnel of Hobby Hall will transfer to Posti as existing employees.

- Posti is Stockmann's long-term partner and a provider of diverse logistics services. With this arrangement, we wish to implement new logistics solutions that meet today's requirements and enable us to develop Hobby Hall's business rapidly, says Björn Höglund, Logistics Director at Stockmann.

- I warmly welcome Hobby Hall as Posti's customer. I am glad that we can provide Hobby Hall with high-quality logistics solutions for e-commerce, says Harri Kämppä, Vice President, Supply Chain Solutions at Posti.

Hobby Hall's products will be stored and processed in Vantaa, at Finland's first service center that is geared to facilitating e-commerce logistics. The robot-assisted hybrid warehouse can bring as many as two or three additional days of sales for online stores. Before the products are transferred to Posti's service center, Posti will serve Hobby Hall with its new in-house logistics service. In the in-house model, the logistics take place on the customer's premises, using the processes and tools of the customer.

The partner network offers competitive solutions for international e-commerce

In March 2016, Posti joined the DHL partner network that offers harmonized international parcel deliveries in 16 European countries. Within the network, Finnish online stores, such as Hobby Hall, will gain access to a delivery type that covers all of the countries in the network and meets the same quality requirements in each. Thanks to the cooperation, there will be no more differences between countries in the delivery of parcels across borders. Each partner in the network has fine-tuned their process in order to make the operations harmonious and allow online stores to provide their customers with even more transparent and reliable deliveries.

In addition to Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, the network comprises Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Posti's cooperation partners in the network are DHL Parcel Europe, DHL Freight Sweden, Posten Norgen, and its subsidiary Bring.

The advent of e-commerce, the digitalization of retail trade and the introduction of multi-channel sales avenues require that the logistics partner of the retail trade raises the service offered by its supply chain to a new level. Posti has operated in all areas of the supply chain for a long time and it is the market leader both in parcel and warehousing services, and among the three largest operators in transport solutions. Posti's extensive transport network that covers the entire country, its 1,400 service points, the popular Parcel Point service for consumer customers and cutting-edge warehousing services ensure successful logistics solutions for Posti's customers.
