- Russia is one of Itella's most important focus areas where we see considerable growth opportunities. Itella is already the market leader in contract logistics in Russia. In order to be able to add more emphasis to other areas of logistics we need to invest more in our business there. Russia is a very competitive and a demanding market. Nikolay Voinov brings considerable expertise and experience with him. He will lead the implementation of Itella's growth strategy in Russia, says Heikki Malinen, President and CEO of Itella.

Nikolay Voinov has a degree in technical engineering and economics from St. Petersburg's State Technical University.

Nikolay Voinov will report to Heikki Malinen.

- It is a big honor for me to join young and energetic team of Itella. Itella is an undisputable leader of the Russian contract logistics and transport market and our major task will be to strengthen this position and even increase our footprint entering new segments of the markets, says Nikolay Voinov.

The current Head of Itella Logistics Russia Vesa Vertanen will continue working as a senior advisor during the transition period until summer 2014.

- Vesa Vertanen has had a long career working for Itella, the latest position being the Head of Itella Logistics Russia. During the last six years he has established a strong position for Itella in Russia. This leads us in a good position from which to continue our work, acknowledges Malinen.
