Itella to launch a new comprehensive service for LTL transport from Kotka to St. Petersburg

15.11.2013

Itella Logistics has launched weekly LTL transports from Kotka to St. Petersburg. This new type of service includes transport, customs declaration and warehousing. This offers customers a quick and easy way to get their goods to the destination overnight without any surprising additional expenses.

Trade between Russia and Finland is growing significantly and the number of LTL transport items between these two countries is increasing accordingly. Itella Logistics is the largest warehousing service company in Russia. As a new service, the customers are now provided with a regular and convenient connection for cross-border LTL transport.

Direct inter-terminal LTL transport from Kotka to St. Petersburg will mainly serve companies exporting LTL goods to their own sites in Russia or to their Russian customers.

The service includes customs declaration and the three-day customs terminal rent in St. Petersburg. The customs declaration will be made at the receiving customs terminal, after which the items will be delivered to the recipients as a local delivery.

"Now our customers can get their products safely, quickly and easily to importers and then onwards to end users, without any surprising invoices," comments Kari Voutilainen, Director at Itella, describing the service in a nutshell.

The new LTL service can be combined with Itella Logistics' extensive range of services in Finland and Russia.
