Electronic pay slips to Netposti more popular than ever

08.03.2013

Already, eight of the ten largest Finnish employers send their pay slips electronically to Netposti. Large companies that have adopted Itella’s electronic pay slips include Finnair, Kesko, S Group and Itella. Of these, an electronic pay slip is the default setting for the employees of Kesko, S Group and Finnair, while in the other companies employees can still choose whether to receive pay slips electronically or on paper.
Electronic pay slips save costs, because electronic delivery costs only about half of what conventional delivery does.

“Electronic pay slips also reduce the burden on the environment. The carbon footprint of an electronic pay slip is ten times smaller than that of printed ones. In all, electronic pay slips offer considerable benefits compared to conventional paper slips,” explains Tommi Björklund, director in charge of Netposti.

Pay slips can be automatically transferred from the employer’s software to Itella, which delivers the pay slips to the recipients’ Netposti accounts. The service is in most cases directly compatible and ready for use by the company without modification.

Employees are satisfied, too

Both employers and employees are satisfied with the adoption of electronic pay slips. According to Itella’s survey, most of the employees receiving their pay slips electronically would not want to return to printed pay slips. The benefit of the electronic pay slip is its speed; the pay slips are in Netposti up to two days before a printed one.

The pay slip is stored safely in Netposti and is easy to find if necessary. The electronic pay archive in Netposti is owned by the employee, so any changes in banking details do not have effects on the archive.

“Employees are particularly satisfied with the archival option in Netposti. Electronic pay slips are stored in Netposti for free for seven years, so you can quickly check your annual income for tax returns or pension calculations, for example,” Tommi Björklund says.

Netposti is a real mailbox offered by Itella to its customers online for receiving official mail, such as invoices, pay slips, and official letters.
