KMD has by 30 of December 2011 taken over Itella Information A/S, which is part of the Finnish Itella Group. Itella Information A/S services include printing, enveloping as well as scanning and electronic archiving. The acquisition supports KMD's growth ambitions and expands a strong market position in the printing market which is an important part of KMD’s combined offering e.g. towards municipal customers.
KMD has for several years been one of the nation's leading providers of print services. With the acquisition of Itella Information A/S KMD emphasizes the will to supplement organic growth of the KMD Group with acquisitions. In the market for printing and enveloping, the acquisition expands an already strong market position.
Itella Information A/S is part of the Finnish Itella Group and has an annual turnover of around 40 million Danish kroner. Itella Information A/S provides services such as e-invoicing, EDI, workflow systems, scanning, printing and physical and electronic archiving. It employs approximately 30 employees in Denmark, all of which will be transferred to KMD. The current production in Hvidovre will be moved to KMD's facilities in Ballerup, which is among the largest and most modern printing centers in Denmark.
- We see a good strategic fit between the two business units, and since we still have ambitions to grow in the printing market the acquisition of Itella Information is a natural move for KMD, explains Lars Monrad-Gylling, CEO of KMD.
In relation to the sale it has been imperative for Itella Group that KMD can continue to carry out Itella Group assignments in Denmark.

KMD has grown steadily over the years in printing and enveloping. The acquisition adds more products and capabilities, and a number of new clients - including several from the private market.
