Itella Logistics Oy has been awarded the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification by Finnish Customs. As an AEO actor, the company benefits from simplified customs procedures and inspection facilitation. The AEO certification is acknowledged in all EU member countries. Also a majority of the members of the World Customs Organization (WCO) intend to carry out the AEO program, aiming to ensure the security of the entire delivery chain and to promote international trade.
"The certification is important for us. It makes the customs process easier and faster, which ultimately benefits our customers. Finnish Customs has audited us and approved us as an AEO actor, which further strengthens our reliable reputation," says Ulla Sorjonen, in charge of Itella Logistics' customs matters.
