An approved proposal for a settlement ends the strikes – mail deliveries to return to normal in a week

09.11.2010

The Conciliator General's proposal for a settlement was approved on Sunday, eliminating the threat of a strike in the postal sector. The strike days declared by the Finnish Post and Logistics Union (PAU) were cancelled, and it will be business as usual starting on the morning of November 8. The backlog accumulated in recent weeks due to the work stoppages by PAU will be cleared this week, and services will return to normal in most locations in Finland before that time.

The settlement also ensures that Christmas mail will be delivered as usual, which is important for many customers. Christmas mail deliveries are not at risk: Christmas cards and parcels will be delivered according to the usual schedule in Finland and abroad.
