Consumers signing on to the new portal

Itella Information is offering a new free service for consumers to receive and pay e-invoices. Through the www.rekini.lv portal, individuals can receive and pay for a variety of services, for example, cable TV and Internet, mobile services, gas, insurance, leasing, security, and utilities. The new portal has been opened for Latvian consumers this spring. Almost 5,000 new e-invoice types have been signed up since the launch on May 11th.

The portal allows receiving invoices from companies that have been added to the www.rekini.lv system. Currently, the portal cooperates with more than 50 service providers, and payments can be made through four banks (Swedbank, SEB, GE Money, and Nordea). Applying for the use of the portal is easy and simple. It can be done through one of the partner banks or by filling out an application form that covers all bills the client receives now and in the future.

By using www.rekini.lv, the client no longer receives invoices by mail. E-invoices are delivered much faster than paper invoices, and the system alerts the user when a new invoice has arrived. It also reminds about the payment due date. If necessary, invoices can be printed and stored in paper form.

- Our portal is a good choice for active Internet users who love comfort. No matter where you are, you can see and pay all your bills at the same time, says Aldis Greitans, Managing Director of Itella Information in Latvia.

Itella Information already knows how convenient portals are. 65% of all electronic invoices are being paid in Estonia through the similar portal, www.arved.ee. Estonia is one of the leading countries in Europe in penetration of consumer e-invoicing.

- In our experience, the best way to make consumer e-invoicing more popular is to make it easy. In Latvia, as well as in Estonia, a consumer needs to make only one contract in order to receive all e-invoices in one place, Greitans continues.
