Itella and IVANAhelsinki continue co-operation on the wings of Tiira

17.08.2009

Itella and IVANAhelsinki are expanding the design co-operation they started last year. The IVANAhelsinki 11 Years jubilee exhibition will be opened in Itella’s Postal Museum in Helsinki as part of the “Night of the Arts” event on August 21. The exhibition showcases classical IVANAhelsinki products and pattern designs, as well as forthcoming new lines and the themes behind them. In addition, the exhibition features products with the unique Tiira (Tern) pattern by Paola Suhonen, which will be available in Itella’s Posti shops as of September 1.

Jubilee exhibition in the Postal Museum until October 25

The IVANAhelsinki 11 Years jubilee exhibition has been put together by Paola and Pirjo Suhonen.  This exhibition is the most extensive retrospective ever of Paola Suhonen’s work.

The exhibition will open on the Night of the Arts, August 21, and run until October 25.  The exhibition’s producer, Pirjo Suhonen, will be present at the exhibition and available to answer visitors’ questions on the opening day from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tiira products available in Itella’s Posti Shops from Sept. 1

The Tiira themed products are new additions to the Design Post product family launched last January. The Tiira collection comprises four products, and the first ones to go on sale are a postcard and gift packages. The Tiira design features a delicate bird figure comprised of pearl-like balls, merging the typical Scandinavian simplicity with romance.

- The co-operation between Itella and IVANAhelsinki is an example of a bold partnership between two Finnish companies. We want to encourage Finns to express their feelings and convey their messages using our design products. Last spring’s Design Post product family received a lot of positive feedback from consumers and its sales exceeded expectations. We are proud of and excited about this co-operation with IVANAhelsinki, says Senior Vice President Tarja Pääkkönen, member of Itella Group’s Executive  Board.

- Co-operation with Itella has been flawless and our pattern designs have been implemented as such without any compromises or alterations. This has guaranteed that the original design touch and story spirit remain genuine and intact, says Pirjo Suhonen, IVANAhelsinki producer.
