Post Office opening hours during Independence Day

Post Offices will be open on two weekends before Christmas

On the eve of Independence Day, Friday 5 December, post offices will be open until 6 p.m. However, on Independence Day itself, 6 December, post offices will be closed.

On Sunday, 7 December, the Helsinki General Post Office will be open according to normal Sunday hours, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. (Mannerheiminaukio 1 A, upstairs) and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Elielinaukio 2 F, downstairs).

In December, post offices will be open over two weekends, 13-14 and 20-21 December, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The Helsinki General Post Office will be open according to its normal Saturday and Sunday opening hours.

The Santa Claus’ Main Post Office in Rovaniemi is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in November, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in December.

The approximately 1,000 privately-run postal outlets will serve the public according to their own opening hours.

The Call Centre will serve customers according to its normal business hours, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. except on the eve of Independence day, 5 December, when it will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Independence Day, 6 December, the Call Centre will be closed.
During the weekends of 13-14 and 20-21 December, the Call Centre will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
