Posti started cooperation negotiations for freight business administration, sales and supervisor positions on July 1, 2019.
The reason for the negotiations was the efficiency improvement measures to improve the competitiveness and profitability of the freight business. According to the preliminary estimate, the personnel reduction need was a maximum of 30 permanent employees. At the end of the negotiations, the reduction need is 23 permanent employees. Posti’s freight business employs approximately 1,300 people.
Posti needs to cut costs by at least EUR 150–200 million in 2019–2021. These cost savings are required due to the dramatic fall in mail volumes alone.
