Nearly all Christmas mail has been delivered today – you can still pick up parcels on Christmas Eve

28.12.2020

Finns have sent a record amount of Christmas mail. For many, sending Christmas cards and
parcels to loved ones has been particularly important this Christmas.

There were almost 18 million Christmas cards sent this year. That is an increase of almost 20% compared to last year. Christmas parcel deliveries also broke all previous records. In Christmas season, approximately 7.7 million parcels were delivered to homes and Posti’s service points.

All parcels have been delivered to their recipients or to pickup and service points. Parcels can still be picked up from some of the pickup and service points tomorrow, December 24, Christmas Eve. You can check tomorrow’s opening hours here.

All Christmas cards mailed by the deadline will be delivered by Christmas Eve at the latest. Christmas cards with an incorrect or incomplete address will be passed through Posti’s address clarification. The objective is to deliver all of these Christmas greetings by New Year’s Eve. Parcels arriving from abroad may be delayed due to the COVID-19 restrictions. International mail will also be sorted and delivered without delay upon arrival in Finland.

“This Christmas has gone well, and I would like to pass on my warm thanks to all of our customers. For us at Posti, Christmas is a matter of pride, and we get in the mood for Christmas thanks to our customers. There were more than 20,000 of us Christmas-makers on duty this Christmas,” says Jarmo Ainasoja, Head of Christmas operations, Posti.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from everyone at Posti!
