Posti will lower the prices of parcels sent via self-service channels, such as the website, Posti's mobile application or Parcel Points, starting September 1, 2016. The decreased prices are due to the increased use of digitization and self-service. The reduction applies to domestic parcels that are paid for using general cash payment methods.
The price of a small parcel (size S) will decrease by nearly 17 percent, from EUR 7.10 to EUR 5.90. The new prices of other parcel sizes:
- Size M EUR 7.90 (currently EUR 8.10),
- Size L EUR 9.90 (currently EUR 10.30) and
- Size XL EUR 11.90 (currently EUR 12.30).
Furthermore, Posti will offer a smaller parcel (size XS) for a limited period, until the end of September, for a price of EUR 5.

Parcels weighing less than 10 kg that are sent abroad and paid for using general cash payment methods will increase by 12-15% starting October 1, 2016. The new prices of these parcels, which will be governed by Posti's universal service obligation from November 1, 2016, will reflect the actual costs of producing the service. These parcels make up less than 0.5% of Posti's total parcel volume.
Plenty of options in self-service channels
Posti offers a range of different self-service options for sending and receiving parcels. Parcel Points enable sending and receiving parcels to any Parcel Point in Finland or any Posti outlet in Finland.
Parcels can also be sent using Posti's mobile application, which also contains services for tracking items and routing parcels.
When you purchase the parcel on a self-service channel, the notice of arrival is sent to the recipient digitally. This way, the recipient receives the information on the pick-up quickly. Approximately 50% of all parcels are picked up within 24 hours.
