31.10.2016

Posti has appointed Tarmo Tael as Head of Parcel and Logistics Services in the Baltic countries, from January 1, 2017. Tael will move to Posti Group from logistics company DPD Eesti AS, where he has served as Country Manager since 2006. In Posti Group's strategy, the Baltic countries are included in the domestic market area for parcel and logistics services.

- I warmly welcome Tarmo Tael to Posti Group to lead our parcel and logistics services in the Baltic countries. We value his strong industry expertise in the parcel business and his knowledge of the Baltic countries. Our goal is to be our customers' first choice for logistics and e-commerce services both in Finland and in the Baltic countries, says Jukka Rosenberg, Senior Vice President, Parcel and Logistics Services at Posti.

In the Baltic countries, Posti Group operates under the name Itella and provides companies with comprehensive logistics services in warehousing, transport and parcel services. For consumers, Posti Group has the largest pickup point network and a home delivery service in the Baltic countries. Posti Group has been present in the Baltic countries with the name Itella Logistics since 2006.

- I'm delighted to join the company and look forward to my first day at work, says Tarmo Tael.

Tael will report to Jukka Rosenberg. Meelike Paalberg will continue as Managing Director of Itella Logistics in Estonia, and Rasma Saule will continue in the same position in Latvia and Lithuania. Both will report to Tarmo Tael.

Posti has an e-commerce cooperation agreement with DHL and Bring, covering 16 countries and 43,000 service points. This partner network offers harmonized international parcel deliveries in 16 European countries. In addition to the Finnish end customers covered by the network, Posti delivers parcels to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania through its newly-established network of 1,200 pickup points, which is the largest of its kind in the Baltic countries. Finnish online stores, on the other hand, will gain access to a delivery type that covers all of the countries in the network and meets the same quality requirements in each.
