Logistics’ parcel and transport services are refined


– A new, green additional service for the environmentally conscious

Logistics' parcel and transport services will have new, consistent names in English as of 1 September 2009. From now on, the main products provided for companies are called Itella Express and Itella Economy.

As a result of the renewal the Keltainen Kuljetus service names will be replaced by new ones. The new names are Itella Express Morning, Itella Express Business Day, Itella Express Flex, and Itella Express City. Itella Express Point is an entirely new service, a quick delivery for shipments retrieved from an Itella outlet. The service meets the needs of online retailers in particular and is initially available in Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo and Kauniainen.

The renewal does not apply to international services, EMS, Priority and Economy, or foreign freight. The Parcel to the Doorstep, and the Postal Parcel, both paid in cash, will remain unchanged.

"Our objective is to clarify our service range and to introduce consistent services to the market in every country in our domestic market area. With the new Itella Express Point, we will be even more capable of meeting the timeframe requirements of online businesses. At the same time, we will also refine our own procedures so that our customers can obtain our services as quickly and effortlessly as possible. Also from now on, we will provide the Prinetti address card printing software and printing materials to our contract customers free-of-charge," says Juha Koskinen, Business Director, Itella Logistics. 

"The service name revision is part of the expansion of Itella's parcel and transport services outside Finland. Our aim is to provide even more comprehensive services in the Nordic and Baltic countries as well, where Itella Logistics has its own subsidiaries," says Koskinen.

The new Itella Green additional service neutralizes the carbon dioxide emissions of shipments

As of September, environmental responsibility becomes a visible part of transport services as the Itella Green additional service is available for Itella Express and Itella Economy services. By using the green additional service, customers can contribute to the struggle against climate change and neutralize the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the shipment being transported. The revenue from the additional service will be allocated to various climate projects through which the emissions will be compensated in full. The green additional service will appear on the parcel card as an "Itella Green" marking.
