Itella Logistics attains Quality and Environmental Certificates

26.02.2009

Three logistics centers of Itella Logistics have attained ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental Certificates, certified by DNV (Det Norske Veritas). The encompassed facilities are the logistics center in Vantaa and the service warehousing facilities in Espoo as well as fashion logistics warehouse in Lahti.

The ISO 9001 quality certificate proves that Itella Logistics has implemented systematic management procedures for continuous improvement of operations and processes in order to put focus on providing the highest quality logistics services to satisfy customer needs and expectations.

The ISO 14001 environmental certificate indicates proven management methods to decrease the negative impacts of operations to environment and on the improved level of environmental protection.

-This recognition is a remarkable step forward in Itella Logistics' service logistics way of operating. Among these sites is also Vantaa center, which is the biggest logistics center of whole Finland. It handles 22 million parcels per year, comments Katri Sahlman, Development Director at Itella Logistics.

Itella Logistics will in the future put even more focus on systematic quality and environmental management and continuous improvement.

- During this year, the certificates will be expanded to cover facilities in Sweden and Norway, as well as further facilities in Finland, says Katri Sahlman.

Earlier Itella Logistics has attained an ISO9001 quality certificate in Finland for the Kauko Group, in Russia for OOO NLC and an ISO14001 certificate in Sweden for Itella Logistics Ab.
