Finland Post Corporation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) has decided on the membership of its corporate administrative bodies, distribution of dividends and change of company name.
Board of Directors
Maarit Toivanen-Koivisto, Chair of Onninen Group Board of Directors, was elected as a new member of Finland Post Corporation’s Board of Directors. Eero Kasanen, Rector of the Helsinki School of Economics, was re-elected as Board Chairman, and Mikko Kosonen, CIO & Senior Vice President, Nokia Corporation, as Vice Chairman. The AGM re-elected the following Board members: Kalevi Alestalo, Director, Ministry of Transport and Communications; Hele-Hannele Aminoff, Managing Director, Leiras Finland Oy; Erkki Helaniemi, Partner, Alexander Corporate Finance Oy; Soili Suonoja, Kauppaneuvos (Finnish honorary title); and, as employee representatives, National Chief Shop Stewards Antero Palmolahti and Mirja Sandberg.
Dividend
The AGM decided to pay out EUR 27 million in dividends to the owner.
Supervisory Board
The AGM re-elected the outgoing Supervisory Board members Leena Harkimo (National Coalition Party), Sirpa Hertell (the Green Party), Bjarne Kallis (Christian Democrats), and Pertti Salovaara (Centre Party). Birgitta Gran, Social Services Ombudsperson (Left Alliance) was elected as a new member of the Supervisory Board.
Antero Kekkonen (Social Democratic Party) will continue to act as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Leena Harkimo (National Coalition Party) as Vice Chairman.
The AGM re-elected the following Supervisory Board members: Marlene Byggmästar, Eero Lämsä (Centre Party), Olli Nepponen (National Coalition Party), Heli Paasio (Social Democratic Party), Terhi Peltokorpi (Centre Party), Harry Wallin (Social Democratic Party), Virpi Honkanen, Jaana Lassila and Sten Öhman (Swedish People’s Party).
Change of Company Name
The AGM decided to change the name of Finland Post Corporation to Itella Corporation on 1 June 2007, and simultaneously, Finland Post Group will become Itella Group (please see a separate bulletin on the change of name).
