The Supervisory Board's duties include the following:

  • ensuring that Posti Group Corporation is managed according to sound business practices and on a profitable basis,
  • providing guidance to the Board of Directors on issues with broad implications or those deemed important in principle,
  • providing the AGM with a statement on the company's financial statements and the auditors' report,
  • monitoring the functioning of postal services and consideration of proposals for changes thereto.

The Supervisory Board has adopted written rules and procedures, which lay out the Board's key responsibilities and working principles.

Posti Group Corporation's AGM appoints the members of the Supervisory Board and elects the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. The Supervisory Board has between six and twelve members. Persons aged 68 and above are not eligible for election to the Board. Members' terms of office are one year and end at the close of the AGM following their election.

The AGM made the following decisions: Markku Rossi, MP (Centre Party) was re-elected as the Supervisory Board Chairman and Jani Toivola, MP (The Greens of Finland) was re-elected as the Vice Chairperson.

In November 13, the extraordinary general meeting made the following decisions: Markku Rossi, MP (Centre Party) was elected as a new member and the Supervisory Board Chairman and Jani Toivola, MP (The Greens of Finland) as a new member and the Vice Chairperson.

Marisanna Jarva, MP, Centre Party, Rami Lehto, MP, True Finns Party, Eeva-Maria Maijala, MP, Centre Party, Mats Nylund, MP, Swedish People's Party of Finland, Sari Raassina, MP, National Coalition Party, Lulu Ranne, Master of Science (Tech.), True Finns Party, Satu Taavitsainen, MP, Social Democratic Party and Kari Tolvanen, MP, National Coalition Party were elected as new members of Supervisory Board.

Following Supervisory Board members were re-elected: Maria Guzenina, MP, Social Democratic Party and Sari Moisanen, BSc Eng, Left Alliance. The Supervisory Board consists of twelve members.


The Annual General Meeting decided that the following will continue as members of the Supervisory Board: Ritva Elomaa, MP, True Finns Party, Lars-Erik Gästgivars, MP, Swedish People's Party of Finland, Maria Guzenina, MP, Social Democratic Party, Satu Haapanen, MP, The Greens of Finland, Sari Moisanen, BSc Eng, Left Alliance, Outi Mäkelä, MP, National Coalition Party, Reijo Ojennus, entrepreneur, True Finns Party, Mauri Pekkarinen, MP, Centre Party, Raimo Piirainen, MP, Social Democratic Party, Tuomo Puumala, MP, Centre Party, Teuvo V. Riikonen, Chief Executive Officer, Christian Democrats and Kimmo Sasi, MP, National Coalition Party.

Mauri Pekkarinen will continue as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board consists of twelve members.

The AGM made the following decisions: Mauri Pekkarinen, MP (Centre Party) was re-elected as the Supervisory Board Chairman. MP Satu Haapanen (The Greens of Finland) was elected as a new member and as the Vice Chairperson.

Following Supervisory Board members were re-elected: MP Ritva Elomaa (True Finns), MP Lars-Erik Gästgivars (The Swedish People´s Party), MP Maria Guzenina-Richardson (Social Democratic Party), student Sari Moisanen (the Left Alliance), MP Outi Mäkelä (National Coalition Party), entrepreneur Reijo Ojennus (True Finns), MP Mauri Pekkarinen (Centre Party), MP Raimo Piirainen (Social Democratic Party), MP Tuomo Puumala (Centre Party), Executive Manager Teuvo V. Riikonen and MP Kimmo Sasi (National Coalition Party) as members of Supervisory Board.

In 2014 Supervisory Board consists of 12 members; 5 women (42%) and 7 men (58%).

The AGM made the following decisions: Mauri Pekkarinen, MP (Centre Party) was re-elected as the Supervisory Board Chairman and Johanna Karimäki, MP (The Greens of Finland) as the Vice Chairperson.

Following Supervisory Board members were re-elected: MP Ritva Elomaa (True Finns), MP Lars-Erik Gästgivars (The Swedish People´s Party), MP Susanna Huovinen (Social Democratic Party), student Sari Moisanen (the Left Alliance), MP Outi Mäkelä (National Coalition Party), entrepreneur Reijo Ojennus (True Finns), MP Raimo Piirainen (Social Democratic Party), MP Tuomo Puumala (Centre Party), Executive Manager Teuvo V. Riikonen and MP Kimmo Sasi (National Coalition Party).

In May 30, the extraordinary general meeting stated that MP Susanna Huovinen (Social Democratic Party) had resigned from the Supervisory Board, and the meeting appointed MP Maria Guzenina-Richardson (Social Democratic Party) as a new member.

In 2013 Supervisory Board consists of 12 members; 5 women (42%) and 7 men (58%).

The AGM elected MP Mauri Pekkarinen as new Chairman of Supervisory Board and MP Johanna Karimäki as new Vice Chairperson.
